July 30th 1995 saw the second Empire Day, held at what would prove to be their new home, Wolsey Hall in Cheshunt.
This event marked the first time appearances by Bruce Boa, Caroline Blakiston and Dermont Crowley, together with Warwick Davis making his first ever Star Wars convention.
The move to the new venue meant that we could open up the Sunday convention to more people, and this time round we had over seven hundred attendees. This event was a turning point in Star Wars fandom, as news of it travelled across Europe – remember, this was before the internet was properly developed, and since Star Wars was in its quiet time, there was no Star Wars magazine, so news travelled between fans by word of mouth.
We also raised around £3,000 which was split between charities chosen by the actors:

Premature Baby Centre
